Entangled
By Rachel Anne Lacaba
“Entangled” reflects the complexities of modern Philippine life, where tradition and progress intertwine. The octopus symbolizes the many challenges Filipinos face — economic struggles, social inequality, and competing responsibilities — its many arms suggesting the tension of being pulled in different directions. Yet it also represents intelligence, adaptability,
and resilience. Amid the entanglement, the artwork reveals not just struggle, but the enduring strength of the Filipino spirit.
