​Alber Tabanao, also known as Kapitan, is a Filipino pop visual artist based in Paranaque who holds a Fine Arts degree specializing in Advertising from Technological University of the Philippines. Known for his playful, childlike characters like 'Goybot,' Kapitan's art, which he began professionally while still a student, is inspired by his childhood and aims to evoke relatable stories and a sense of "Pop Culture Surrealism" in his viewers. Since 2021, he has held numerous local exhibitions in Manila and international shows in Australia, the Netherlands, London, and Italy, establishing a global collector base.
