A Quiet Shelter

By Marko Bello

“A Quiet Shelter” portrays an intimate moment of protection and tenderness within an egg-shaped form, symbolizing origin, fragility, and sacred space. A mother cradles her child, their faces pressed together in stillness, as if the world outside has fallen silent. The bold red stroke cutting across the composition disrupts the calm, suggesting pain, memory, or unspoken wounds—yet the embrace endures. Amid the storm of texture and color, the figures become a refuge for one another, a quiet sanctuary where love persists despite what threatens it.
